The challenge was to create an official music video that not only reflected the mood and energy of Sahara, but also elevated NUSSY’s profile as an independent artist. With TV, digital and press opportunities ahead, the video needed to cut through with both creativity and professionalism - delivered under the unique limitations of 2020’s lockdowns.

We pivoted quickly to a studio-based production, with Head On’s MD Daniel Smith serving as the sole crew on set with NUSSY. To capture the intensity of the track, we leaned heavily on lighting design, practical effects, and a bold creative concept. Post-production saw us collaborate with South African VFX artist Lawrence Jaeger, who helped build a surreal, conceptualised world of black liquid, ram skulls, forbidden apples, and other striking visual motifs.

The final video blended live performance with stunning VFX, creating a dark, cinematic world that perfectly matched the song’s tone. It premiered on Music Feeds, one of Australia’s leading music outlets, and was picked up by international press including Germany’s biggest music blog Tonspion. Despite the limitations of lockdown, the project demonstrated how creative thinking and collaboration can turn restrictions into opportunities for bold, original work.
