Initially, the brief was simple. Rebuild the Australian website using the global K18 experience as the foundation.
But once we dug deeper, it became clear there was a bigger challenge to solve.
K18's science is what sets the brand apart. Yet for many customers, understanding where to start, how products worked together and which routine was right for them wasn't always obvious.
The opportunity wasn't just to rebuild the website. It was to make the brand's science easier to understand and its products easier to buy.
At the same time, the new platform needed to support both consumers and salon professionals while providing the flexibility to grow alongside the brand.

Rather than simply replicating the global website, we used it as a starting point. We restructured the user experience around routines instead of products, helping customers understand the role each product plays within their haircare journey.

Alongside the new information architecture, we redesigned the navigation experience, strengthened product education throughout the site and introduced clearer pathways for both retail and professional audiences.
Behind the scenes, we rebuilt the website on Shopify Plus, consolidated multiple product templates into a more scalable system and streamlined years of legacy content. For professional customers, we also developed a dedicated wholesale experience complete with account approvals, gated products and tailored purchasing pathways.
Every decision was made with one goal in mind: reducing complexity without sacrificing the science that makes K18 unique.


The new website creates a clearer connection between K18's science and the customers it's designed to help. Visitors can more easily understand the range, discover the right products for their needs and shop with greater confidence.
