Cardwell Cellars aimed to transform their online presence by creating a user-friendly platform that mirrored the expertise and charm of their physical store. The goal was to showcase their extensive wine collection with detailed information on each product while introducing innovative features like the World Wine Map to enhance the shopping experience and bring their passion for wine to life online.

We migrated Cardwell Cellars from WordPress and Lightspeed to Shopify, building a custom site that mirrors the feel of their physical store. The design pairs contemporary e-commerce functionality with warm, nostalgic touches to evoke the in-store experience.Key enhancements included:

  • Rich product storytelling with detailed wine profiles covering region, appellation, flavour, pairing notes, and vintage.
  • Advanced filtering making it easy for customers to navigate an extensive catalogue.
  • The World Wine Map an interactive, Airbnb-style map that lets customers explore wines by location, transforming the store into a global tasting room.
  • Shopify POS integration uniting online and in-store inventory for seamless warehouse management, centralised analytics, and real-time stock visibility.
  • Premium photography over 200 wines professionally shot to create a consistent, high-end product presentation.

The result is more than just a website, it’s a digital destination that captures the heart of Cardwell Cellars. Customers can now explore, learn, and shop in one place, with a smooth and intuitive journey from discovery to purchase. The integration of Shopify POS has streamlined operations across the business, while the World Wine Map has created a point of difference that drives engagement and discovery.
